Developers need to learn how to be sales people

The code that we write is only a small portion of the job that we do.  We also need to know how to convey our ideas in a way that our business owners and customers understand.  Why should we address the tech debt, why is this technology shift important, why do we want to use a certain stack.  Go beyond the pure technical and learn to be sales people. Even the best idea is useless if you can’t sell it to the team.
